Confusion or ignorance

Whoever votes for a US president with the hope he or she can do something about abortion or gay right is just confused, blind or uninformed. The fact is the president of the United States can only voice his/her opinion on those issues but is up to the local governments and the Supreme Court to decide.

If you (as a voter) support or reject abortion don’t put your hopes on the president, instead get involved and informed about the position of your local officials (mayor, governor, congress and senate representative).

It was shown on the last Presidential proposal about immigration (2007) by President George Bush that the Senate and/or Congress have the power to decide, change, postpone or simply trash any presidential initiative to change such law and guess what, the laws for abortion or gay rights are exactly the same, not in the hands of the president. So don’t fool yourself supporting or rejecting a candidate just because of his/her position on abortion or gay rights.
